Competition Troupes

  • Competition Troupes are invitational only – designed for dancers interested and ready for competition level.
  • Ideal for passionate, committed, dedicated dancers that present a willingness to work hard, excel and thrive.
  • Troupes are entered in at least 3 – 4 events per year. These mainly include eisteddfods and one festival performance. Routines are also showcased at the annual dance concert.
  • The main dance genre for Competition Troupe is Jazz.

Eisteddfods

Dance eisteddfods (or competitions) are held annually across Sydney and differentiate from each other – some small and others large, some more competitive than others.

Eisteddfods are an excellent way for dancers to improve their performance skill and cultivate their talent and passion. Dancers learn the hard work and determination required to succeed in this team sport, and the importance of striving for a common goal.

Through competition, dancers will not only improve skills and technique but also gain confidence, poise, commitment and self-esteem. Every eisteddfod experience should always be positive, valuable and memorable.

Dance participants are entered into sections according to dance genre and average age. For example: 12/Under Jazz, 14/Under Jazz, 16/Under Lyrical.

Expectations and Requirements –
Competition Troupe parents and dancers should agree to or understand the following:
